One of the most popular spots offering a panoramic view of Chania are the Venizelos family tombs, a few kilometres east of the city, on the road to Akrotiri and the airport.Here, at the small church of Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah), are the tombs of the famous Greek statesman Eleftherios Venizelos and his son Sophocles. The tombs are set in a pretty park with an uninterrupted view of Chania.
Driving away from Venizelo’s family tombs we will see the Monastery of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), or Tzagarolon Monastery is located on the Akrotiri Peninsula, in Chania. At the end we will see the brilliant beach of Seitan Limania. Seitan Limania bay is 22 km north east of Chania town. Your initial image on reaching here from above can only be described as celestial, with sea lanes penetrating the rugged rocks of the majestic Akrotiri cliffs.To reach it, bear in mind that will need to walk downhill for about 20 minutes.
